Streatham & Marlborough – Update – 8 April 2015

Hi all,

With the rest of the week set fair, we can finally look forward to a weekend of cricket at Dulwich Common with the colts training commencing next week! There are four games for the seniors at home over the weekend and a repeat the following week. If you are looking for a game, get in touch with our Chair of Cricket (Raj Patel) on
rajnaldo@aol.com, 07983 452 211 or via the club Facebook page.

In the meantime, there are a few events coming up that I need to make you aware of…

Surrey CCC Roadshow @ Streatham & Marlborough CC – Wednesday 15th April
This is open to all and is a great opportunity to find out more about Surrey Cricket. Includes a short film ‘My Surrey’ and a Q&A session with Chief Executive Richard Gould, Director of Cricket Development Paul Taylor and Surrey legend, now Second XI coach, Alistair Brown. Book your (free) ticket here… http://www.kiaoval.com/next-roadshow-streatham-marlborough-cc/

Pub Games Night – Saturday 18th April
If your competitive juices haven’t been satisfied by a day’s cricket, you will get your chance to challenge your fellow members to a series of pub games in the evening. There’ll be pool, darts, skittles and (I’m sure) a few drinking related games to keep you entertained… All welcome.

Chairman’s 60th Birthday – Saturday 16th May
Our marvellous Chairman, John Greenwood, will be celebrating his 60th birthday at the club next month. Get it in your diaries, it promises to be a great evening. All members are welcome to help him bring in this milestone. Poster attached with RSVP details, there is also a Facebook invite.

Presidents’ Day – Sunday 24th  May
There will be the usual day of food, cricket and copious amounts of rum punch on this bank holiday weekend with our President, Peter (Coach/Grizz/Phil Banks/Chef from South Park) Edwards, putting out an invitational XI to play against Chairman’s XI. All welcome to come and enjoy the day!

Upcoming Events
9th May – First league fixtures and welcome drinks for new members
13th June – Race night
11th July – Australian night to coincide with the first Ashes Test match
29th August – Hog roast and craft beer night
