Junior cricket at SMCC

At SMCC we have a thriving and expanding junior cricket section, with cricket for boys and girls from school year Reception right up to teenagers playing in senior cricket.

In 2021 we’re on track to have over 300 junior players this summer term, including around 70 girls. We are running 8 boys/mixed teams and 2 girls’ teams and expect to complete around 180 matches.

With our coaching partners, 360 Cricket, we now run holiday camps at Easter, the summer half-term and for 5 weeks over the summer holidays, and through the Autumn and Spring terms, we run indoor cricket for 150+ players.

In all, we expect our junior players to take part in around 24,000 hours of cricket per year.

Our girls’ section continues to grow rapidly and in 2021 we will will be aiming to continue that trend. We are keen for girls of all ages to join our squads.

We welcome players with any level of experience. We just look for players to be full of enthusiasm for the game of cricket.

For full details of all of the above and to how contact our junior section, please see the SMCC Juniors website.
