Dear all,

A few updates for you, I’ve tried to keep it as brief as possible…!

Please email natalie.hill@rothschild.com to confirm your attendance and the number of guests you will be bringing so that we can have an idea of numbers for food.

18th April – Pub Games Night
9th May – Welcome Drinks for new members

AGM News

Chairman’s report
Great success on the field in 2014 but our pavilion is holding us back. We have planning permission and are going through the rounds of funding with the aim of building in time for the 2016 season. Our launch party where £50k was raised on the night was fantastic and the bar was well supported throughout the season. As ever, if anyone is able and willing to lend a hand, do let us know.

Treasurer’s report
A small profit has been made for 2014, the weather last year along with the sterling work of our social committee have been crucial.

Policies
The financial policy and selection policy enjoyed some heated debate, but the principles were passed.

Subs
A small increase was agreed from last year’s rate.

Captain’s reports
Saturday – 1’s narrowly missed out on promotion by virtue of fewer winning draws, however a good campaign; 2’s had an enjoyable season and ended comfortably mid-table; 3’s got promoted, says it all; 4’s also promoted and laid claim to the team with most players in the bar post game; 5’s had a challenging year…; 6’s had a promising season in their first year of league cricket; 7’s provided some valuable senior cricket experience for lots of juniors.

Ladies – Had a difficult year in a tough league. Playing numbers were a concern but have already picked up a few more players for next year

Sunday – Development XI finished third and provided cricket for lots of youngsters.

Colts – A great season. 40% increase in playing numbers and always played with spirit and enthusiasm.  Well done Sally!

New Positions:

The Exec largely remained the same with Raj Patel taking on the role of Chair of Selection from Roddie Bell.

Mass changes to the captains. Neil Hembrow leads the 1st XI, Armani Sharif takes over the 2’s, Andrew Henderson takes on the newly promoted 3’s and Asif Cockar jumps from 6th team to 4th team with Paul Hutchin his replacement. Laurie Johnston and Mark Matzen retain charge of the 5th and 7th XIs. Rabiena Hassan stays in place as ladies captain and Curtis Knott replaces Shareef Hassan for the development XI. Chris Reardon stays as midweek captain but there are no Sunday skippers – if anyone is interested – please let me know!

Think that covers most of the salient points but if you want to see the minutes, just send me an e-mail.

Cheers,
Dan
