SMCC travelled to Met Police for the second installment of declaration cricket. Having won the toss for a second consecutive week, Ilbers decided to have a bat first. Fretwell started off for the Police and struggled to control the swinging ball. He soon found his radar and swung one through Ellis’ defences. Thomas and Stephens batted well to take the score up to 50 with MP still extracting movement out of the surface. Thomas had made 24 before Fretwell managed to get one to jump and took the shoulder of the bat, looping up for a return catch. Stephens and Fernando eased in to a nice partnership before Stephens was LBW to Turner, leaving SMCC needing to rebuild at 90-3.
